Well to start off, I have never watched this show before today. It was not that bad but I am not sold on it yet. I do like Tina Fey a lot and I think Alec Baldwin is great so I think that giving it some time couldn't hurt. Best part in the whole episode is when Fey cries out her mouth. I don't know why but I thought that was hilarious.
Tracey Morgan is a weird character and I'm guessing this is nothing new. The show went really quick since I watched it on a stream site and it really seemed like not that much happened. She got her show, bailed and then watched herself do some crazy dance moves in the background on a soap. Still when she cried out her mouth and went all Exorcist in the mirror I had a good laugh. I think that maybe I should go back and watch some of the earlier episodes so I can appreciate what is going on. Oh and when Tina Fey went in front of the HD camera....that was kind of funny too.

I agree I feel like much didn't happen in the show but it could have been that I wasnt that into it either. Thats a good idea about watchin some earlier shows to try to fallow it better, I think I may do that also.
ReplyDeleteHow does what you watched fit in with the elements of a digressive sitcom? I'm not talking so much here about how the show was structured (although there is that), but how people (you) respond to that kind of structuring. Were you expecting something else and got thrown off a bit? Good idea to watch some earlier episodes, if only to see how DEALBREAKERS has evolved.
ReplyDeleteI agree Ricky, maybe I do need to watch more of the old episodes to get a feel for what's going on. The story line wasn't really hard to follow, but not knowing the characters or the entire set up of the show kind of threw me off. I really enjoyed the whole crying out of the mouth by Tina Fey as well, along with her throw back to Lord of the Rings in the mirror. cant wait to see whats in store for next week.
ReplyDeleteSame as you I felt like I needed to go back and watch some earlier episodes. I loved it too when she cried out of her mouth but I think my favorite part was the whole HD camera part. It is a fast paced show I realized as well, I was kinda suprised when it was over.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not sold either. It had its moments (the crying out the mouth, the HD camera bit), but nothing more than a chuckle. I agree that it has potential, but I'll also have to watch some more episodes.
